I used to hate painting still lifes, but when you are forced to paint someone else's arrangements of lamps, and shapes, how can you help but hate it? I think since my first dress form painting (one to come), it has changed my mind about still lifes. Of couse, it's very figurative, but I like the total control of lighting, and stillness. They are also good exercises.
